WE KNOW THE ANSWERS to all of your eyewear
questions...
Like these (for a start)...
Q.
What's “in” now?
A. Great news. What's in is what looks best on you.
Q.
Where do eyebrows belong?
A. Two rules. For sunglasses it doesn't matter because your eyes are no longer the point of reference. For your indoor eyewear, the glasses should contour the shape of your brow or create a contour to enhance your brow. Your brow is the top of your face and people expect that to be the last thing they see before they get to your hairline.
Q. What
colors work best on me?
A. Based on your skin, hair and eye color, certain colors will flatter and enhance your natural coloring. Stop by and we'll show you which ones work best for you.
Q.
How many pairs should I have?
A. Think about your lifestyle before putting any limits on your eyewear. Sometimes the extra pair that you consider a luxury actually becomes a necessity.
Q.
Tint or not?
A.Tint can be applied to your eyeglass lenses with many different effects. Do you want to create an eyeshadow look, a little shading to help with florescent lights, or just to give your specs a retro look? Just be careful... too much tint on the bottom part of the lenses can sometimes create the illusion of dark circles!
Q.
What are all these coatings I hear about?
A. It's very important to have the most light transmission pass through your lenses. It helps you see better. Those are the coatings we're concerned about. See our video "Anti-Reflective Lens Treatment" on our Lenswear page.
Q.
Which lenses are best for me?
A. Your eyeglasses are a very high tech "tool". Different lifestyles, different visual systems, all have specific needs. When we know more about your Rx, lifestyle, face shape, coloring and history, we'll know what's just right for you.
Q.
What's the best sunglass lens?
A. No doubt, polarized lens offers the most comfortable vision and protection in the sun. See our videos "Polarized Lenses - Water" and Polarized Lenses - Driving" on our Lenswear page.
Q. What's the right way to clean my specs?
A. 3 Easy Steps to Protect & Clean Your Lenses: Water & Kleenex... 10/10 Spray & Kleenex... then Buff with your 10/10 Cloth
Q. Size,
too large or too small?
A. Fit is more important than size. Comfortable eyewear should sit properly on your nose, fit easily behind your ears, and not rest on your cheeks. That's where we start.
Q. Metal
vs. Plastic?
A. I choose both. New materials for both metal and plastic make frames lighter, stronger and great choices of colors. No limits!
Q. Thin
lenses, what's the story?
A. For your comfort why not wear the thinnest and lightest lenses that technology has to offer. High index materials can really increase your comfort and the aesthetic value of your glasses.
Q. What
is a progressive lens?
A. Great question. See our video "Progressive Lenses" on our Lenswear page.
Q. The
computer is killing my eyes, what should I do?
A. Definitely consider 'office lenses' that will allow you to multitask four feet and closer for your near vision needs.
Q. What's
with the red mark on my nose?
A. Funny enough, your bridge (top of nose) has almost no fat below the skin. When your glasses rest on your nose, it's true - they will occasionally leave a small mark. The same way your watch, your rings, your socks leave a mark. These marks should disappear within a few minutes.
Q. Who
should examine my eyes and how often?
A. Your optometrist is a specialist in your vision as well as contact lens fitting and design. It's important to see your optometrist once a year for a complete check-up.
